What kind of journalistic narration is implemented by mainstream news media when reporting on ultra-right political actors? Is a detached, ‘monitorial’ style, sufficient, or should journalists approach these players using more engaged forms of reporting? These questions inspire the present study: an investigation of how Italy’s leading newspaper, «Corriere della Sera», has discursively covered the neo-fascist party Forza Nuova. The analysis shows that coverage is often timid, unwilling to expose this group’s dangerous ideology. This research is of value to those concerned about the rising visibility of the ultra-right and the role of the news media in it
