This paper aims to describe the wĕhinnēh participle clauses in the Dn 8vision report. This syntactic pattern seems to combine two perspectives: simultaneityand evidentiality. Simultaneity, expressed by a flexible verbal formsuch as participle, is associated to the empathic potential of the conjunctionwĕhinnēh, which indicates the source of the perception (evidentiality). Thisassociation will be peculiarly productive in visionary accounts, where it isnecessary to convert an instantaneous perception into a description.
