'e project of Exonì (1950-1954) involved a new settlement that was supposed to be built on the slopes of Imettos mountain, on the northern side of Glyfada suburb, with a distinct residential purpose, designed as a potential solution to the pressing housing crisis in post-war Greece of the Fi'ies. For the promoters of the project – sociologists, historians, architects, anthropologists, artists – Exoni was to become the place that would reconcile the values of the past with those of the present, regarding both the urban and architectural profile as well as the social and economic expectations of Greece in those years.
