This paper discusses the pedagogical side of the 5th Anacreontic of John of Gaza and the role of the Grammaticus in the Neoplatonic School. Through some key allusions to Platon, and a language highly sophisticated, the poet invites his pupils to a correct understanding of the myths and at the same time promotes a poetics based on the myth as paignion.
