The paper considers the impact of the Rural development program of Campania on the credit-worthiness of the regional farms. The analysis is based on a quantitative evaluation by applying an ordered probit statistical model, by which one has identified the explicative variables of the rating assigned to a farm sample. The results show the negative impact of the land improvements in contrast with the investments concerning the working capital. This study is particularly useful if one considers the growing importance of the relations among banks and farms, in light of the unavoidable reduction of the public funds which will be assigned to the agriculture in the future.
