The terme « image Â» holds many linguistic uses and can be applied to many contexts, with many different meanings. The thesis of the author is that the image's problematic nature is the test-bed for a non naïve ontology. Every image perception is neither a simple nor a double seeing, but an act of seeing where thinking is basically separate, because it provides the cognitive standard to recognize image as a form, or as a quasi-object which somehow « is Â», and in so far it « is Â» it offers itself to perception.
