The “Spina” of Turin is about planning renewal of the urban settlement. Its purpose is to virtuously redraw the city as a whole: a heir of the great; complex regeneration plans for the 19th century metropolis. The “Spina” program, in its complexity and capacity of involving the entire city, is completely different from the most of recent plans and is intended to modernize Italian cities, historically cities that were unable to be improved.
