This article gives new information on the Zibaldone's laboratory, shedding light on the sources of six citations previously passed unnoticed to the critics. Moreover the reconstruction of some implicit readings allows to deepen Leopardi's working method as well as the process that indirectly led him to associate his own "system" to that of Locke. Furthermore, it will be demonstrated that the phrase Soyez grand homme et soyez malheureux is not meant to be attributed to D'Alembert.
