According to the model of IPT (Breakwell, 1993b), the study aims to analyze social Rep- resentations of Italian and European history and their correlations with the construction of national and supranational identification in a sample of Italian adolescent students. 253 high school students answered a semistructured questionnaire oriented to register whether and how contents and stands towards historical Italian and European described events are embedded in participants self-concept and contribute to reinforce their feeling of belonging to Italy and Europe. Results show rather shared representations of Italian and European historical events, that are first of all referred to the XXth century. Those valued more posi- tively result more incorporated into the framework of identity of participants, contributing to structure their sense of belonging to these territorial realities.
