The analysis of normal parental experience of mothers with a young child raises new research questions and suggests new directions for primary prevention actions of malfunctioning in the parent-child relationship. This study analyzes 14 group interviews carried out with a focus group technique. Seventy-seven mothers of 18- to 36-month old children participated in the group interviews discussing their everyday experience with their child. This analysis provides evidence for some problematic aspects involved in the mothers' experiences and gives suggestions for primary prevention.
