The A. examines the government's programmatic declarations, presided by the Hon. De Gasperi, made before the Chamber June first 1948 and analyses the debate in the Chamber of Deputies debate that followed July 8, 1948, on the bill for the ratification of the agreement for economic cooperation between Italy and the United States. This parliamentary debate on economic cooperation probably constitutes the only global parliamentary discussion, in more than a century in Italian parliament, on Italy's international collocation, of the state of the Economy and of society, of the possible lines of development and of future aims
