The essay is a reflection on the Hegelian conception of natural law. Hegel completes the process of separating law from nature (Entnaturalisierung) that had begun with Hobbes. It is not in nature that, for Hegel, Naturrecht has its foundation. At the same time, however, Hegel makes a radical critique of the modern natural law theory, thus thoroughly rethinking the meaning of Naturrecht. Finally, the essay proposes a reinterpretation of the relationship between positive and natural law in Hegel’s definition of Recht
