TOURISM AND TRANSPORT: THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON SUMMER 2020. - This paper aims at analysing the main impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourists’ choices during the past summer season, using the context of Northwest Italy as an illustrative case study. The results of the online questionnaire show the predominant dynamics of the domestic tourist flows in summer 2020, also verifying the reliability of last spring’s forecasts. In this regard, a substantial consistency among those forecasts and the survey results is found. The contribution of this study lies not only in the findings related to the tourist flows but especially also in their geographical interpretation, which enables to provide useful insights for adequate territorial policies.
