The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), negotiated between the European Union and Canada, is nowadays one of the most innovative trade agreements within the international scenario. Among its innovations, the drafters chose to include a chapter ad hoc – Chapter 13 – on financial services. The paper realizes an analysis of CETA Chapter 13, in order to emphasize the role of the financial services sector and the importance of its proper regulation at international level, highlighting, however, at the same time the fact that there is still a long way to go to reach this goal.
