28The case of Federico Aldrovandi, victim of a stop and search intervention by the Police in Ferrara, on the 25th of September 2005, shed a light about police abuses in Italy. In this work the authors use discusses the Aldrovandi case under the angle of police culture. By using the model outlined by Robert Reiner, and his categories of isolation, conservatism, mission and cynicism, he demonstrates that police culture is closed and resistant to changes, and the death of Federico Aldrovandi occurred precisely because the Italian police has an approach of isolation from reality. Its mission is that of protecting society even at risk of deaths, so that cynical attitudes are expressed. The author uses as his source the trial against the police agents who were involved in the case.
