This essay reflects on the relationship between time and law and on its importance for historical research, considering "time" in its value of ascriptive factor that affects the contents that law takes. The article especially focuses on the kind of temporal condition that supports regimes of impermanence of law such as transition, crisis and emergency. Examples are given in order to describe the attributive effect of the conjuncture and its fallout on the legal regimes in the medium and long term.
