The second paragraph of Article 3 of the Constitution took form when the notion of substantive equality - rooted in socialism, but inspired by Fabian liberal socialism - met with the positions of progressive Catholicism. Therefore, the Marxist-Catholic nature of the Constitution was not the product of a "compromise" between Catholics and Communists, but rather the intentional outcome of the combination of two positive worldviews, each of which considered itself to be fulfilled in the final document.
