The relationship between Gianni Vattimo and the Christianism is very original and sympathetic with his conception of postmodern age. In the frame of Gianni Vattimo’s philosophy, we have to do with a paradoxical attitude. In correspondence with the revival of the ideal of communism, of an “hermeneutical communismµ, a silent but original rediscovery of the idea of «katechon» is emerging – that is the «witholding power», one of the central categories of the political theology which inspired Carl Schmitt’s conservative thought.
