Tommasi’s paper (2020) shows how evaluation continues to be an issue of debate for the psychological academic community. Yet, this debate sometimes appears too focused on particular aspects and doesn’t pay due attention to the overall design of which the evaluations are part. This paper addresses some processes underlying evaluation which seem to be taken for granted and have not been sufficiently emphasized in Tommasi’s article.
