The challenge of work-life balance is nowadays one of the most relevant aspectsto which companies are committed to prevent conflicts. The present studyexplains how the «non-use paradox» of work-life balance services is articulatedin a sector with high contractual and labor protection conditions, the electricitysector in Italy, in which one would expect a greater use of corporate welfareservices. A survey conducted in 2014 in collaboration with the CISL FLAEIreached a sample of 5,704 workers. The results show that, despite the highprotection of the sector, there is still a scene of not using conciliation services,even in cases of family burden. The main reasons can be traced back to differentaspects linked both to the choices of workers, partially aligned with the workdevotion schema, and to external factors linked to company organization andaccess to information on the corporate welfare system.
