The article deals with the role of Archaeology in the Ministry for Culture's organization, which resulted by the 2014-2016 Reform. Moving from the analysis of the structures' development since 1861, the unification of Cultural Heritage's safeguard and the relationship between museums and territory, the text aims at distinguishing the system's failures, the actuation's obstacles, the problems created by the Reform and those that still affect the Ministry.
