In Italy, the vulnerability of urban areas to impacts from a changing climate raises major concern. Awareness about the related risks is still low, and only few cities have started getting ready for a changing climate. More action will thus be needed, building on a coordination of policies at various levels and sectors and on long term perspectives for new measures to be adopted, choosing among those which, as Nature Based Solutions, are able to produce a series of interesting co-benefits for the attractiveness and quality of life in cities.
