The Greek poet Kostìs Palamàs (Patrai 1859-Athens 1943) had long acquaintance with Italian literature which marked his critical thought. The results of this deep influence can be evidenced when interpreting authors and trends in modern Greek literature. In this paper, Palamàs' comparative reading of Solomòs (Zakynthos 1798-Kerkyra 1857) and Leopardi is confirmed by means of a philological analysis of Solomòs' autographs, and new hints are given to a reassessment of Solomòs' role in the broader context of European Romanticisms.
