The essay analyzes Del Noce's continuous and deep reflection concerning totalitarianism, his innovative impact on traditional political categories and the differences among the three different forms of 20th century totalitarianism: Communism, regarded as a theoretical and historical priority, Fascism and Nazism. The second part of the essay focuses on Del Noce's works on technocratic and consumerist society, conceived as the last expression of a totalitarian spirit and compared with Emanuele Severino's works on the same issues.
