0In recent decades there has been a new wave of studies in sociology and anthropology ofeconomy and markets. The Actor Network Theory (ANT) is one of the primary new approaches.The intention of this paper is to review some of the main aspects of this line of research. Inaddition we wish to highlight links between ANT and semiotics, stressing the role played bysemiotics in the development of ANT, as well as indicating new developments. We will examinethese developments particularly in relation to economy and markets studies regarding financialmarkets.
