A number of new developments have recently taken place in science that are largerly ignored by philosophers of mind, of language and of science: the recognition that much of the reality is constituted by complex rather than by simple systems, the use of simulations as a new way of expressing scientific theories, and the new attempts at constructing a radically naturalized science of both human mind and human societies. Philosophers should give more consideration to these scientific developments because that would allow them to view many traditional philosophical problems in a new light and to contribute to clarifying the general implications of the new developments.
