In contemporary biopolitical societies, "evaluation" is a fundamental instrument of control and administration of the quality of life. Within economics, evaluation allows to measure the objective happiness of the people; within epidemiology, it is a mean to foresee which risks threat our behaviors, and how to prevent them. The essay argues that this valuational-techno-rationality defines a new humanity, subjected to a new kind of anthropology and of power which is not theorized but applied and practiced every day.
