10Freedom from bodily limits is a "dream" nourished by literature starting from Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein". The author concisely describes and analyses "transition" theories on the hybridisation of human beings through technology, and criticises their philosophy and anthropology. He judges them too dualistic and careless of the physiological and psychological risks involved in the forced process of body "artificialisation". He then examines the technological thoughts expressed by transhumanist culture, taking film production as an "observation point" From Fritz Lang's "Metropolis", Paul Verhoeven's "Robocop" to David Cronenberg's "Videodrome" of 1983 (artificial human beings nostalgic of a "human" past).
