The debate on Parliament has become very intense, in Italy, after the june 20th general elections, as a consequence of the unusual situation of a Government formed without a majority in Parliament. The Author tries to assess the situation, in the possible light of a different interpretation of the Constitution from the usual one, based on a Brititsh-style model. The analysis is focused on the different constitutional arrangements which are consequential to the Christian Democrat theory of the "centrality", the Communist proposal of the "historic compromise", the socialist proposal of the leftis "alternative"
