186The law no. 134/2021 provides for the introduction of a new, extraordinary appeal for the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. The paper addresses the regulation of the new extraordinary remedy introduced in the criminal justice system by the Cartabia Reform (Article 628-bis Italian code of criminal procedure) and aimed at implementing the judgments by the ECtHR. As a result of the reform, the suppletive work of jurisprudence has become obsolete, as have the Constitutional Court ruling no. 113/2011 and the introduction of the socalled “European revision”. The paper offers a first interpretation of some problematic aspects already discernible in the discipline of the new extraordinary remedy, trough the analysis of the conditions, methods and timing of presentation of this unprecedented means of extraordinary appeal, particularly with reference to the Court of cassation
