The essay attempts to sift through the many issues involved in the practice of surrogacy, trying to highlight its irreducible complexity, but at the same time trying to solicit a situated and feminist perspective of analysis of the issue. In particular, the work seeks to highlight the many interests underlying this technique and the ideologies it conveys, placing women and the path to their liberation at the heart of the concern.
