In this paper we study a polynomial innovation diffusion model which takes into account an explicit mechanism of demographic evolution of the market population. Under suitable hypotheses we get a closed form solution for the adopters equation and examine its main properties. Furthermore we give some results concerning the sales path and present an application to cellular phones market.
