The small communities of the fragile areas of our country, which in large numbers are located in the South, are affected by depopulation phenomena, leading to a reduction in social cohesion and a degradation of the material and immaterial cultural heritage. However, the initiative of voluntary associations and the third sector, with a vocation specifically aimed at the recovery of common goods and symbolic identity values, is able to have a positive impact on the recovery of traditional knowledge, the care and protection of places, putting a stop to the abandonment of places by young people and inviting new presences, eager to inhabit places on a more human scale, in which to embody the desires of a new rurality
