The transition from the network society to the platform society has digitally restored classic capitalist processes of centralization – and oligopolization – of decision- making fora, where the economic power appears to be the cause and the stem of political action. In the mechanisms of production of a massive amount of data that can be transferred swiftly and in their intricate management, even in a negative form, in what may not for nothing be defined as the gigabit society, one could discern the extremely close relationship between the structures of IT platforms (which economically benefit from such data) and the quality of social relations. The framing – on a cogent legal level – of what concerns that which cannot be conceived as a set of mere connectors reveals the difficulty of mitigating, at the very least, a whole series of inequalities by means of which integrated IT equipment grounds its own substance, with collective projections at times having a potentially ruinous imprint
