Attachment theory is drawn upon in family courts but misunderstandings are widespread and sometimes result in misapplications. There are numerous occasions of incorrect use of the conceptual and methodological tools indicated by Attachment Theory, which significantly impacts the decisions taken about minors and families and lengthens decisions time to the detriment of the minor. It becomes necessary a greater homogeneity of evaluation and intervention protocols, which are related to attachment theory with the use of validated and reliable tools by clinicians and social workers.
