The author focuses the attention at the mental states of children living in territories not far away from war zones and wonders about the psychological consequences. We live in an age characterized by globalization and pervasive media information: these elements make it almost inevitable that a child will be exposed to the violence and the pounding of these images. In addition, many parents today feel insecure about what is happening around the word with possible repercussions of their support function. The peacetime that lasted almost eighty years seems to be in jeopardy and I believe it is useful to reconsider today in areas still at peace the theme of destructiveness and death conceptualized by Freud, Klein and other analysts. To this end, the author refers to Melanie Klein’s «Narrative of a Child Analysis» believing that this text, in addition to being a clinical and theoretical exposition, is also a clinical-historical document: the analysis takes place in 1940, in Scotland not too far London mowed down by bombing: this causes Richard strong anxieties and concerns in the same way that children today may feel the same anxieties with respect to current ongoing conflicts
