724Based on administrative records of the Kingdom of Sardinia in the 18thand 19th centuries, the research aims to identify the categories with which local populations identified and used commons through the study of communal properties. The close examination of these categories allows to hypothesize a cycle of formation and occupation of commons lands within an agro-sylvopastoral economy. Moreover, the study of the actors of the local disputes around the commons allows the author to identify in the hamlets the main protagonists of the management of the commons, and traces specific forms of classification of the commons themselves.
