The challenge of cutting the balance of greenhouse gas emissions and absorption down to zero is becoming a global objective. The Province of Siena had already focused on this target thanks to the farsightedness of Enzo Tiezzi who had set the goal of climate neutrality when this topic was still restricted to a few insiders. Today, a collective effort coordinated by Siena’s Territorial Carbon Neutrality Alliance is needed to maintain and improve this result and to make environmental quality the basis for the future development of the area.
