This article deals with two parallel processes that intertwined during what can be defined as the «Long 1948»: the flight and expulsions of Palestinian Arabs from the territory of the new-born State of Israel; and the migration of the so-called «Arab Jews». On the one hand, I address the resettlement challenges that both groups faced in the countries of destination. On the other hand, I investigate the role that these two events and especially requests for compensation played in the negotiations between Israel and the Arab countries in the late 1940s and early 1950s, during the Oslo Accords, and in the Trump’s Middle East peace plan.
