The 20th century marked a turning point in the history of forced migrations, which reached a dramatic peak during the years of the Second World War. The contributions proposed provide new interpretative keys in the study of these phenomena by focusing on the «inner dynamics» of migrations rather than on their origins. This change of perspective has led to the emergence of some new features, including greater reflection on the different types of displacement, as well as a redefinition of the boundaries of refugee studies. Finally, lines of research that have not yet been explored are suggested
