This paper analyses vocational training in the Italian prison context and presents first results of a case study carried out on vocational training agencies in Piedmont. The research intends to highlight a case study that has been analysed by interviewing – remotely – 7 of the vocational trainers belonging to the most repre-sentative realities of prison educational and professional training of the Region, in order to study the field of the accompaniment of prisoners according to the constitutional re-educational purpose of the sentence. The paper intends to highlight – through a qualitative survey – the most critical aspects of the training offer. Despite the ever-increasing offer of training activities, but with the same amount of resources invested, the paper investigates how the procedures for the selection of participants take place, how the criteria of normality and reliability in concert with the practices of solidarity affect the choice of the users, and what are the methods of assign chosen.
