Geographers, today, are increasingly interested in understanding how recent developments in the field of neuroscience can have an important impact in other areas of academic study. Indeed, the consideration of these disciplines has probably modeled the trajectories of human geography since the 1960’s although it’s «neural turn» has only recently been recognized. This article provides an analysis of the intersections of research on neuroscience and geography. In this document, an overview of brain mapping is also provided through the application of spatial data processing techniques that use GIS (Geographical Information Systems) to represent the brain as a multi-layered map.
