The measurement of multidimensional socio-economic phenomena makes it possible to expand studies by providing new information even at very small territorial detail. Among these phenomena, that of well-being plays a central role because it is closely studied at national and international level. In addition, the use of administrative sources for statistical purposes allows the calculation of individual and composite indicators up to the municipal level (and beyond) providing to citizens and policy makers interesting tools of analysis. The paper presents an experiment conducted on the Italian municipalities where well-being individual indicators were calculated by drawing on administrative sources. Composite indicators were then computed in order to gain a unidimensional measure that can help policy makers in the economic planning of the territory.
