A rent supplement scheme is one of the measures aimed at helping families in conditions of housing deprivation. This measure is widespread throughout the country and is backed by state resources. The management of the measure is delegated to the Regions, consistent with some criteria set at the central level. It is aimed at low-income tenants who rent in the free market. The article analyses the impact of the measure using data from the Piedmont Region. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of the measure as a means of reducing inequalities.
