104Once Monarchy was abolished in France, national Convention led to Republican Constitution publishing process. The Plan de constitution presented by Condorcet Feb 15th the 1793 - on behalf of comitè de constitution - turns out to be the most democratic result within the whole Revolution (1789-1799): not only does it include (male) universale suffrage and elective assembly legislative power but also direct democracy practice to cancel or change legislature being in force. From this perspective Constitution approved by Convention (June 24th the 1793) which never came to force, appears to be far less democratic. French and Italian historiographers have always underestimaned Condorcet constituent value.
