The paper is a report of several failures occurred in the last century, vainly trying to enhance some remarkable structural works in Rome. It starts with a partial success - the protection of one gasometer in the Italgas site on via Ostiense - proceeding with the shameful destruction of the Olympic Velodrome and, then, with the more innocent but equally sad event concerning the former wholesale market (ex Mercati Generali), linked to the pointless sacri)ce of the "umbrellas" by Giorgio Baroni. Finally, the paper presents a side of the story of the Flaminio Stadium, with a brief historical overview to the Tor di Valle Racetrack, replaced by the new Roma Stadium. (is short review ends trying not to promote the "complaining culture", always opposed by Sergio Poretti, as a matter of fact, the co-writer of the paper
