In their recent book (Due immagini di Platone in età contemporanea. Il neokantismo, Martin Heidegger) Massimo Luigi Bianchi and Francesco Fronterotta offer an accurate reconstruction of two influential interpretations of Plato, namely Neo-Kantian (in particular that defended by Natorp) and Heideggerian. In addition to restating the main theses of the book, my purpose is to show the similarities in the readings of Plato's doctrine of ideas that connect the otherwise very different philosophies of Natorp and Heidegger.
