266In his interpretation of the Platonic Timaeus, the Neoplatonist philosopher Proclus (412-485) used the Atlantis myth in order to implement his theory concerning the derivation of the sensible world from a certain transcendent reality on the basis of the monistic orientation of his philosophical system.
