In the aftermath of liberation, ending five years of Nazi German occupation, a significant debate over the definition and the role of democracy arose in Denmark. In Ross's conceptual paraphernalia, a fundamental role is accorded to Nordic democracy, a value-sharing community. Once Ross had set out the conditions which govern democracy, he climbed down the ivory tower and offered his unreserved support for the social democratic party program "Fremtidens Danmark". In an analysis of "being", I lay emphasis on Ross's intriguing conceptual interplay between politics and science in light of his politically social-democratic perspective.
