74The author examines the contributions of administrative historiography from 1966 to 2015. In particular, he analyses the new "revisionist" tendencies relating to administrative centralization. To this purpose, he describes the causes that led the liberal class to choose this model (of Franco-Napoleonic derivation) and recalls the various evaluations that were given in the period indicated. Finally, relying on numerous studies relative to the functions of local entities and on the controls to which they are subjected to by state authorities, he verifies the validity of the theses of those who have recently argued that it indicates a "weak" centralism.
